Jing Yang 8D of Winnipeg, Canada has won the North American Chunlan Cup to earn a place in the Chunlan Cup as the North American representative. Yang bested a field of 16 players including two professionals and other strong amateurs to make it to the Feb. 4-5 finals to face Yongfei Ge, also of Canada(see game at right). Yixian Zhou directed the tournament. Jing Yang will represent North America at the 2012 Chunlan Cup, scheduled to take place in Taizhou, in China’s JiangsuProvincein March. The tournament is sponsored by the Chunlan Group.
