Twist on a Standard Problem

Without the marked Black stone on the outside, this life and death problem would be relatively easy. But perhaps surprisingly, the marked stone changes everything, because White can no longer allow variations in which Black's stones connect out.

As the problem stands, the difficulty is at dan level. However, kyu players can still benefit from the problem by picking a White 1st move at random, and then trying to read out the status. After that, kyu players can read through the entire set of variations of this interesting problem.
